THE Hull to Scarborough Line will take poetry lovers on a smooth journey at Café Venus in Ramshill on Saturday.
Written and presented by Hull writer and performer Sue Wilsea and Scarborough’s Felix Hodcroft, The Hull to Scarborough Line aims to make spoken-word performance more exciting, dynamic and informal.
It has been successful in Hull and now brings to Scarborough its blend of prose and poetry, wit and passion, striking tales and strong emotions.
There will be a generous open-mic slot for audience participation and, on Saturday, the guest performer will be York performance poet Helen Burke.
Tickets cost £8 including a meal, a beer and a draw for poetry books. They can be booked at the venue or by ringing Felix on 07926 382562. It is due to start at 7pm.
