SCARBOROUGH police officers have raised more than £1,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in memory of a former colleague.
The team from CID got into the spirit of festive fundraising, raising a total of £1,020 at their Christmas party.
The money was donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in memory of former officer Cid Crumbie.
Detective Constable Ryan Chapman said: “Every year we have a Christmas party, during which we raise money for a chosen charity.
“This year we decided to donate to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
“One of our colleagues, Cid Crumbie, passed away. He was a big supporter of that charity, so we decided to support it too in his memory.
“We were really pleased with the amount we raised, which we think is the most we have ever raised at our Christmas parties.
“Hopefully the money will be of good use to the cause.”
Money was raised during the party through a ‘Play Your Cards Right’ style game.
Local people and organisations had also donated prizes for a raffle.
