Scarborough Police are inviting youngsters to a Street Safety Day.
The event will be held at The Street Youth Club, in William Street Coach Park on Friday 21 February 2014 between 1pm and 5pm.
There are a wide range of activities to get involved in, the chance to meet the emergency services and prizes to be won.
PC Holly Hornsby, of Scarborough police, said: “Street Safety Day should be a great event and families are welcome to come along and get involved. It will be a fun afternoon with an important safety message, as well as the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the work of the emergency services.
“Everyone is welcome and we hope to see as many people there on the day.”
The activities on offer include:
Kids v cops football match
A climbing wall
Police dog unit demonstration
Police prison bus
Safety display car from the fire service
Cycling skills course – with prizes from Sainsburys
Scarborough Cycle Centre providing bike servicing
Poster design competition with winning design appearing on safety literature
Free cycle marking
The event is also part of North Yorkshire County Council’s Takeover Week, which is aimed at encouraging children to be active in their local community.
