Police recover stolen car from Norton

A car which was stolen from outside a home in Norton has been recovered by North Yorkshire Police.

The grey Audi A4 saloon car was believed to have been taken from Mill Bank on Sunday, sometime between 2am and 8am, and reported stolen by the owner at 12.48pm.

Acting on a tip-off, police found the car at Westfield Close, Upper Poppleton, York, on Monday at 10.30pm.

Reports suggest the Audi had been abandoned at Westfield Close between 8pm and 8.15pm on Monday.

Police say the driver’s door was open and the radio was playing loudly when it was recovered.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
