Don’t miss question time event

RESIDENTS are being reminded not to miss their chance to quiz local political leaders at a question time event being held at Scarborough Library in Vernon Road at 7pm on Wednesday.

The event has been organised by the Scarborough Urban Area Forum as part of its theme for 2012 – local democracy – and the forum’s support group is keen to give residents an opportunity to speak directly to local decision makers.

The panel will include the leader of the Conservative group, Cllr Derek Bastiman, Cllr Bill Chatt of the Independent group, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats, Cllr Geoff Evans, Labour group leader Cllr Eric Broadbent, and the leader of the Green group, Cllr Dilys Cluer.

Forum chairman Lindy Rowley said: “We are extremely keen to get as many local people involved as possible and would encourage everyone to attend, it’s a great opportunity to put forward questions to local decision makers, there could be some very interesting debates.”

There is still chance to submit questions on the night for anyone who has an issue they wish to be addressed by councillors.
