THE organisers of the recent Ayton Gala have thanked the public for helping make the event a big success.
The popular annual event took place earlier this month at the playing fields and village hall off Wilson’s Lane in East Ayton.
Committee member Maggie Beal said: “With a slightly different formula this year, in addition to the village hall stalls, a variety of interesting stalls raised money for individual charities at the same time as supporting the ongoing renovations to the Village Hall.
“The weather was perfect and there was a great ‘family’ feel to the entire day. The committee would like to thank sincerely all those who gave their time, effort, expertise etc, to help with all aspects of the gala, as well as those who generously lent us tables, gazebos, marquees, sound equipment and transport.”
The committee is now hoping to encourage ‘fresh faces’ to join them with fresh ideas to take the Village Hall into the future for the next generations.
The next committee meeting will be held on Thursday October 13 at 7pm, when anyone who feels they might be interested would be very welcome to come along.
