LOCALS of an angelic Scarborough pub revisited their youth to raise money for little angels at Scarborough Hospital.

Nikki Aitken, barmaid of The Angel Inn in North Street, wanted to give back to the hospital’s Children’s Ward and winged the support of the staff and regulars to join in the good cause.

She said: “We played game of Guess Who, we got locals to bring in pictures of themselves when they were younger. Everyone paid £1 to enter and we raised money through that over a period of weeks.

“Dave Walker plasterers and the Angel Football club gave a lot of money too.”

In total, the supporters raised around £450 which was put towards toys, clothing and baby equipment.

Miss Aitken added: “We bought toys from 0-24 months, clothes from 0-four years, everything from nappies to baby growers to pyjamas, boxes of bricks and a lot of outdoor toys.

“I thought it would be nice to give something to the Children’s Ward, most people’s children have been in there at some point and it’s nice to give back.”
