KIND-HEARTED pupils at Scarborough College collected an array of food and produce for Harvest Festival.

The collection, which included fresh fruit, vegetables, tinned and packet goods, will now be passed on to the Rainbow Centre in Scarborough.

Parents were invited to join a special Harvest Festival assembly, which included poetry readings and songs culminating in a traditional harvest hymn.

Headteacher, Isobel Nixon, said she was delighted with how well everyone had done.

She said: “Everyone from our pre-school children in Little Owls to our sixth form students have worked really hard to bring in home-grown produce for the Rainbow Centre.

“The college’s age range makes celebrations like this really special as we can all meet together.”

Trish Kinsella of The Rainbow Centre also attended and thanked the college. She explained the work of the centre, which offers practical support to Castle Ward residents in Scarborough, The area has been designated an Urban Priority Area.
