YOUNGSTERS from a Scarborough school are set to go the extra mile for charity!
The children from Brompton and Sawdon Community Primary School will hit the treadmill in a huge 242-mile challenge for Sport Relief.
Working as a team, the pupils will run the equivalent distance from the school to the new Olympic Stadium in London.
Each youngster is aiming to complete two miles every day to complete the gruelling task on Sunday and coincide with the thousands of Sport Relief Mile events across the country.
Teacher Rachel Watson said: “When I suggested the idea of getting ready for the Olympics and combining that with a charity event for Sport Relief, I was really pleased at the enthusiasm and commitment.
“The children have been very busy trying to gather sponsorship for their long run as well as buying sweatbands for Sport Relief.”
“I would also like to thank Mr Tiffany from Scarborough Fire Station and Mr and Mrs Dobson and Mr and Mrs Finch for kindly loaning us running machines.”
