Quacking good time planned for fundraiser

It was weather for ducks this weekend, but Burniston Show fundraisers are hoping it'll be perfect weather for a duck race and tractor run on Sunday 20th May. FUNDRAISERS are hoping to make a splash as they chug up the funds for this year’s Burniston Show.

Each year organisers of the annual show hold a tractor run and a duck race to plough some money into the running costs of the event.

This year’s double fundraiser is being held on Sunday May 20 at the Village Hall in Burniston.

Tractor enthusiasts are being invited to meet for the tractor run at 10am at Troutsdale, where they will set off at 10.30am.

The run will take them to Hackness before chugging their way to Mawthorpe, onto Lady Ediths, then to Red Scar Lane.

The route will then go up to Suffield, along to Reasty Top, on to Harwood Dale, before turning right at Stone Quarry, down to the duck pond in Scalby, up to the Rugby Club and back to the village hall between 12.30pm and 1pm. For more information about the tractor run contact Alan Tomlinson on (01723) 871050 / 367177.

Dozens of ducks will then make a splash as the duck race starts at 2pm at the beck at the Village Hall.
