Scarborough author Joe Coates will be launching a new children’s book at the North Bay Railway on Saturday.

The book, titled “Donkey Alert at North Bay Railway”, completes the series of “North Bay Tales” which are based on the miniature railway.

They aim to enable the children who travel on the miniature railway to re-live their journey while enjoying the story.

The tales are suitable for children of nursery and infant ages. Other titles include “A Teddy Bears’ Picnic at North Bay Railway”, “Birthday Surprise at North Bay Railway” and “A Santa Special to Remember at North Bay Railway”.

Each book features a different engine from that railway: Neptune, Poseidon, Robin Hood and Triton.

On Saturday, Joe will be giving readings of his new book every half hour from 11am to 4pm.
