KIND-HEARTED staff at a town centre travel agents are raising money to help a Scarborough baby who is battling leukaemia.
Workers at The Co-operative Travel in Westborough are supporting five-month-old Hollie Richardson, who is currently undergoing treatment in Leeds.
Hollie’s parents are staying in Leeds with the support of The Sick Children’s Trust, which provides accommodation for parents close to the hospital.
The store is raffling off a rugby ball signed by players from Scarborough RUFC. Staff are also collecting donations of cash and items such as toys and clothing which would be suitable for a baby girl.
Travel advisor Amy Beresford said: “On September 27 Hollie was diagnosed with a form of leukaemia which is very rare in infants. She was admitted into hospital and 92 per cent of her bone marrow was cancer cells.
“However after nine days of intensive treatment it dropped to 14 per cent, so she’s a real little fighter.”
