A FAMILY are taking the plunge to help St Catherine’s Hospice by doing a fundraising parachute jump.

In memory of Julie Mollon, who was cared for at the hospice, her sister Wendy Blake and daughters Sharon Swales and Lucy Keogh will take on the daring challenge.

To raise funds towards the jump they have organised a race night at the Newlands Park Hotel on Friday July 15.

Julie’s daughters said that after losing their mum, they wanted to “support each other and do something positive as a tribute to the lovely person she was”.

The ladies added that they have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of local businesses in donating prizes for the Race Night Raffle.

There will be lots of goodies up for grabs, including an off-road mini moto and a children’s BMX bike.

The first race starts at 7.30 pm and everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun.

The ladies will be taking to the skies on August 6 at Grindale Airfield, Bridlington, to complete a sponsored parachute jump to boost their fundraising figure.

Luckily for Wendy she has managed to get a local business, T.G. Woods, to sponsor her charity jump.

If any other business would like to sponsor Sharon or Lucy’s jump, or for more information on the forthcoming race night in Julie’s memory, contact either Wendy on 07912 175294, or Sharon on 07722 141144.
