Range of subjects at society

THE Scarborough branch of the East Yorkshire Family History Society has set out part of its programme for this year.

First up is Christine Hepworth on Changing Face of Scarborough on Tuesday January 31.

There is a workshop with representatives from Scarborough Library and the Maritime Heritage Trust on February 28 and a talk by David Futty on Monuments in Church and Churchyard on March 27.

The topic on April 24 is Illegitimacy in 18th and 19th Century East Yorkshire and Sheila Dixon talks about the Mysterious Mr Smart – a genealogical puzzle on May 29.

John Renton’s subject is Falsgrave on June 26.

The group meets at Northstead Methodist Church Hall. The talks start at 7.30pm. Doors open at 5pm to allow time for research.
