A SPECIAL textile recycling roadshow is due in Scarborough today.
Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd with Scarborough Council’s recycling education officer will be visiting areas in Scarborough and will be on hand to take any textile/clothing donations and speak to residents about the recycling process.
The roadshows will be held in Scarborough town centre from 10am to 4pm today, at Filey bus station from 9am to noon tomorrow and in Eastfield, at the back of Proudfoots from 1.30pm to 4pm later that day.
Harry Briggs, recycling and waste enforcement manager, said: “The partnership between the trading company and the council has already been a great success in helping people and saving raw materials and resources. We are delighted to part of the road show and look forward to the feedback from residents who use the textile banks around the borough.
“We currently have around 35 textile banks located at mini-recycling centres in Scarborough, Whitby and Filey and we also offer schools a bright red textile bin to recycle their textiles too.”
