Residents get say on how money is spent

RESIDENTS in the Scarborough Rural Area are being invited have their say on how £70,000 will be spent locally.

The Scarborough Rural Voice Your Choice participatory budgeting fund, financed by Scarborough Council will see 29 projects from across the rural area competing for a share of the money.

Anyone aged 11 or over who is a resident of the Scarborough Rural Area can go along to the events and score the projects, which include improvements to Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall, and new equipment for Seamer and Irton Cricket Club. Each project will have an information display providing information about the project.

The first decision event is at Ayton Village Hall between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday February 10, and the second event will be at Scarborough Rugby Club between on Saturday February 12.
