Residents in Ramshill Road have been left without water after a water main burst this afternoon.
Yorkshire Water is at the scene, opposite the ABC taxi office, and is working to rectify the issue.
People living in the area have reported a dramatic drop in water pressure and, in some cases, loss of water completely.
Geraint Thomas, one of those affected, told The Scarborough News: “We went to put the kettle on and no water came out of the taps.
“We have builders on the roof and I thought they might have switched off water but my wife went for a walk to Sainsbury’s and got a text of Yorkshire Water just as she looked up the road and saw a river of water coming towards her.”
