A Scarborough man has admitted to sending photographs of a sexual nature to a woman’s family after their relationship broke down.

Adam Jacek Pietrzyk, 48, pleaded guilty to disclosing private sexual photographs with an intent to cause distress in a case of so-called “revenge porn”.

Pietrzyk, of Cromwell Terrance, originally from Poland, formed a relationship with a woman over the internet who was living in Poland at the time. He went to visit her after exchanging messages and calls and following a number of further visits the woman decided to travel to Scarborough.

Difficulties in the relationship led to her leaving the flat they shared together and on the July 1, seven images of an explicit nature were sent to her family members.

Several were sent through Facebook to her mother and sister and one image was sent to her niece.

Martin Butterworth, prosecuting, said the victim was “shocked and disgusted by what he has done.”

The court heard that Pietrzyk had no previous convictions.

The case has been sent for a probation report and Pietrzyk will appear again before the court on October 20. Magistrates asked if the images could be included in the case file so they could see them before deciding on the sentence.
