WORK is due to get under way next month on a collapsed sewer underneath Dean Road in Scarborough.
The work will be carried out by contractors Mott MacDonald Bentley on behalf of Yorkshire Water.
In order to carry out the repair safely, the contractors will need to close off a section of Dean Road near the junction of Wrea Lane.
This closure will be in place from May 3 to 27 and a signposted diversion route will be in place for the duration of the scheme.
The existing on-street parking in Dean Road will be unaffected by the road closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and so will access to the coach and car park.
A further road closure will also be required in September and residents will receive a letter nearer the time with more details.
Richard Sears, Yorkshire Water’s community engagement manager, said: “During the project you may see additional traffic in the area and there may be some noise relating to our work.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this scheme causes and thank everyone in advance for their cooperation.”
Mr Sears added that contractors will not need to gain access inside any resident’s homes in order to carry out the work. Call 0845 1242424 for more information.
