CHILDREN living in the Falsgrave area of town are set to benefit from the generosity of members of The Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers.

The benefactors have given £750 to help run an after school Fun Club at Falsgrave Community Resource Centre for children aged between four and 13.

Debbie Brown who runs Butterfly Children’s Services in the centre said the donation was a significant help.

She said: “The Edgehill Community Association sponsors many of the activities which take place in the centre but it didn’t have enough money to cover all the costs of running the fun club.

“The Rotary Club has been very supportive of the work the Community Association is engaged with and they agreed to help us.

“We truly appreciate their help and the money they have given us will really make a difference.”

Peter Howgate of the Rotary Club added: “The Club is able to support a few local charities each year; more recently we have helped the Rainbow Centre, the Edgehill Community Association and now Butterfly Children’s Services.”

Sessions cost £1 and take place on Monday and Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6pm. To register in the fun club call (01723) 374461.
