Police are appealing for burglary victims to come forward following the arrest of three men by officers working on Operation Hawk.

The men aged 28, 41 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of burglary in Norton, Malton, on Wednesday.

The arrests follow the report of a Ford Mondeo seen acting in a suspicious manner in the area that evening.

Officers recovered property from the suspects vehicle which they believe may have been stolen.

They now want to speak to anyone in the Ryedale or Scarborough area who has suffered a burglary recently and has not yet reported it to the police.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Lucie Welford or you can email lucie.welford@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

Or, if you would prefer to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111

The 28-year-old, who is of no fixed address, was arrested at 6.30pm.

The other two men, both from the Barnsley area, were arrested shortly after 8pm following a search of the area.

All three men have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
