Sadness at Ken’s death

I was saddened to hear of the recent death of Kenny Golder.

I had the privilege of playing in a quartet with Ken in the early seventies down at the Bier Keller in Huntriss Row, along with Sandy Johnstone (keyboards), John ‘Rocky’ Pearson (bass), Barry Hampshire (sax). They were all great musicians, and we had the best of times.

Ken was a true pro, an uncomplicated great drummer, with a unique understanding of his craft, it was a pleasure to have sung and played guitar in front of him. I learnt a lot from Ken, he was a drummer’s drummer, a great bloke, and I know I speak for so many musicians when I say he will be missed by them all.
