Staff at Sainsbury’s in Scarborough will be joining in the Red Nose Day fun tomorrow with a madcap Malteser Challenge.

The event will be running in the foyer at the Falsgrave store from 9am to 5pm.

The challenge is to see how many Maltesers people can move from one bowl to another using chopsticks.

People are encouraged to take on the challenge for a donation of £1.

The winner will be presented with a Malteser chocolate hamper.

All of the proceeds will go towards Comic Relief projects, helping those in need both in this country and in Africa.

Sainsbury’s staff will also be donning fancy dress for the occasion.

Schools, office workers and businesses across Scarborough will be getting involved in raising funds for Red Nose Day tomorrow.

These include Filey Childcare and Scarborough Sixth Form College, where people will be dressing up to raise cash as well as a smile.

Comic Relief is held every other year, alternating with Sport Relief. Pictured l to r are Sallie Smith, Deb King, Helen Kirk, Fiona Daplyn, Alan Sunderland. Picture by Richard Ponter 131135.
