Cerstie Clarkson and her team were jumping for joy after learning the news.

Cerstie started Liberty eight years ago and in that time has seen the business go from strength to strength.

She said that the award was recognition of the hard work of all the staff.

“I just want to thank all of our clients who voted for us in the competition,” she said.

“We have a wide variety of ages of people who use the salon and I think that is a sign of a good business.

“I also want to say a huge thank you to the staff for all their hard work.”

The business will celebrate its ninth birthday in July and Cerstie thinks there is a simple formula behind its success.

She said: “We are professional and friendly and I think that is why people keep coming back.

“They are more like our friends than our customers.”

The salon offers hair, beauty, nail and spa treatments and employs up to 11 members of staff.

Congratulations to Liberty Retreat and thank you from The Scarborough News to all the
salons in Scarborough that took part.
