A SCARBOROUGH salon is celebrating moving to new premises with a raffle in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

Shona’s Hair and Beauty, which recently moved from St Thomas Street to Castle Road, is offering a pair of GHD Straighteners, worth £100, as the top prize in the draw.

Salon owner Shona Kille said: “As a local business we like to support this local great cause and thought a raffle would help to raise funds for patient care.”

Amanda Welburn, fundraising assistant at the hospice, said: “Shona’s are loyal supporters of the hospice and we would like to extend a huge thank-you to Shona and her wonderful team for all their support, and this most generous raffle gift.”

Debbie Jewison, St Catherine’s Hospice retail manager, added: “The loyalty of our community never ceases to amaze us.

“Without the continuing and loyal support of everyone within our community we wouldn’t be able to raise the £4.5 million needed to provide all the care we do for patients and their families.”

The raffle costs £1 per entry and can be entered by visiting Shona’s new salon in Castle Road.
