Scarborough man, 21, seriously injured in crash on Cross Lane

A 21-year old Scarborough man was seriously injured when his car hit a tree yesterday morning (Thursday, August 8).

Police were called to the incident on Cross Lane at around 7.15am.

The victim was removed from his silver MG ZR by the fire service and was taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment.

It is believed that he suffered two broken arms and injuries to his neck and spine.

Cross Lane was closed between the junction with Newlands Park Drive and the junction with the A165 while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The road was reopened just before 10am.
