Scarborough murder: court hearing

Two men are due in court today (Monday) charged with the murder of 41-year-old Scarborough man Jonathan Binns.

The men aged 34 and 29 were arrested following the death of Mr Binns at an address on Eastborough on Wednesday.

They have also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

Two other men, both aged 30, have also been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

One of the men also faces a charge of assisting an offender.

All four men have been remanded in police custody pending today’s appearance at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “I am very grateful to the public for their response to our witness appeals and for the patience and understanding they have shown while forensic examinations and searches have been ongoing over the weekend.”
