Rainbows from Scarborough showed they were in fine voice as they recorded a special song to celebrate the Rainbow’s 25th birthday.
The girls – aged five to seven – from the 1st Forge Valley Rainbows won a nationwide Girlguiding UK competition to write a new verse for the much-loved Rainbow song, which is sung at Rainbow meetings.
They have now recorded the song, with their special birthday verse added, and it will be uploaded to the Girlguiding UK YouTube channel.
Throughout 2012, girls had been celebrating the 25th birthday of the Rainbow’s section around the country with a host parties and events, with thousands choosing to complete a specially-created resource and badge.
Maisie, seven, said: “The filming was really fun. I would really like to do it again.”
Leader Janet Bell said: “The girls had a great day and lots of fun.
“We got together and talked about the song and the girls picked some words they wanted to use, and then my unit helper went away and put them into the song.”
Rainbows was founded in 1987 for girls aged five to seven years old.
