The opening date for Scarborough's eagerly awaited new water park has been revealed.

The £14m Alpamare Water Park will official open on July 28, as the finishing touches are applied to the multi-feature facility over coming weeks.

Dr Anton Hoefter, Alpamare Chief Executive Officer said: “Today we are all officially very excited!

"The announcement about when we will be open for business is a great milestone in the development of our world class waterpark.

"Yorkshire is a truly amazing county and we’re confident that we are delivering a truly amazing, all year round attraction for the county and the UK to be proud of.

"We’re now on countdown to 28 July and we really can’t wait to welcome our first visitors through the doors!”

Like nothing ever seen before in this country, the world class attraction boasts exclusively designed, adrenaline inducing waterslides, which are the UK’s longest and fastest.

Also included is a giant indoor wave pool that erupts every 30 minutes, with metre-high waves, outdoor garden pool and indulgent iodine infinity pool with massage jets, whirlpools and bubble benches - both heated to 35°, terrace overlooking Scarborough’s spectacular coastline and beautifully landscaped gardens with sunbeds, pool bar and restaurant.

And, following within months of opening, will be a luxury European Thermal Spa, set to open in early 2017.
