Kind-hearted fundraisers across Scarborough hosted a series of action-packed events in aid of BBC Children in Need.

Events in and around Scarborough included bakes sales, fancy dress days and sponsored challenges.

One daring fish and chip shop owner, Ian Warwick of North Bay Fisheries, even plunged into a bathful of batter to support the cause.

The shop also hosted a family fun day with free chips in return for a donation.

Scarborough’s mayor and mayoress, Andrew and Sue Backhouse, also stepped up to raise funds by selling home-made cakes and treats at the Town Hall.

Scarborough Sixth Form held a dance off between students and staff.

And at Country Cuts hair and beauty salon in Snainton, Emily Triffit, Claire Robinson and Ali Haldenby wore yellow onesies all day and sold cakes, raising £316.

The event raised over £31m on a national level.
