Scarborough welcome Keighley to Silver Royd for their opening Yorkshire One clash on Saturday September 2.Smith, who returns from his role coaching in Chicago at the end of July, can’t wait to get going.“It’s a tough league, Yorkshire One is very hard to get out of,” said Smith.“I’d like us to win something, and the goal I have been given by the club is to win promotion, so that is very much the aim.“There’s no reason why we can’t start the season on the front foot.”Smith will be preparing sessions for his coaching team, while he’ll also be having pre-season filmed until his return from America, as he bids to field a fitter and stronger side this season. He added: “You have to be fitter than everybody else to get out of Yorkshire One, and that is certainly one of my main aims.”
