Pupils are gearing up for their high school musical which rolls into town next week.
Teenagers at St Augustine’s School will be getting into character - among those are Dodger, Fagin and of course the lead and namesake Oliver -in their production taking place at Scarborough College in Filey Road, from Monday to Wednesday.
The show features a cast of 50 and also a 25-piece live orchestra, but is a combined effort with all the school lending a helping hand.
Musical director Oliver Barron said: “Rehearsals are going really well, it’s going to be a production of the highest quality and absolutely outstanding. We have good musicians helping out and our own kids are in the orchestra and we have some really good singers.
“The whole school has been involved creating sets and costumes. Our producer and director Katherine Price has been working really hard and we can’t wait for the show to start.
“Everybody is welcome to come and enjoy this amazing show in Scarborough.”
Tickets can be bought in advance from the school or on the door on show nights, at £5 for adults and £4 for children.
