SCOUTING for funds has paid off for the Mayoress’ Community Fund.

It is £150 better off thanks to the Scarborough and District Scout Council.

The cash was raised at this year’s St George’s Day Parade through the town and a service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Alma Parade.

“We are a charity ourselves and know what it is like to raise funds,” said District Commissioner Bonnie Purchon.

“When at all possible we like to help others in the community which is part of our Scout promise.

“The Mayoress’ Community Fund has many times in the past helped sections of our association for which we are very thankful. This year we wished to return the favour.”
