IT was second time lucky for the annual sports day at Friarage Junior School in Scarborough.
The first attempt, last week, was postponed when heavy rain waterlogged Northstead School playing fields, which Friarage uses for sports days.
The weather on Tuesday afternoon was much more conducive to outdoor fun. Deputy head Cheryl Cappleman said about 120 pupils aged 7-11 travelled by bus to Northstead.
The sports and activities which tested children’s physical skills included throwing foam javelins and beanbags, relay races, mini-golf, spacehopper race, cricket bowling and penalty shoot-outs.
