AN outdoor production of Love’s Labour’s Lost can be seen at Woodend on Friday.

The action is transposed to the rock ‘n’ roll era, when Buddy Holly and Elvis dominated the charts, the jive was in and the king of Navarre and his friends have forsaken wine and women in a bid to get some studying done.

But will they keep their oaths when a beautiful French princess and her delectable entourage arrive on a diplomatic mission?

Misunderstandings, mayhem, music and Russians ensue.

It will be performed by Not Cricket Productions, a young, not-for-profit theatre company who met at St Andrew’s University.

They are rapidly gaining a reputation for producing fast-paced and innovative shows. They aim to provide high-quality entertainment at an affordable price.

They say their show is a “fresh, family friendly production with live music that proves Shakespeare doesn’t have to be a trial”.

It is due to begin at 7pm.
