TWO Scarborough sisters are hoping for a slice of fundraising action over Mother’s Day weekend.

Eleanor and Libby Wood are holding a coffee morning and cake stall on March 17.

The event is to raise money for Scarborough Rotary Club’s Special Care Baby Unit project.

Eleanor, 12, and Libby, 8, are supporting the project after both being cared for in Scarborough Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit as babies.

They are hoping to raise money to help the hospital achieve its £50,000 target for a refurbishment of the unit which will allow mothers to sleep on the same ward as their babies when they are in special care.

The event is being held at The Park Manor Hotel between 10am and 12noon.

Cake donations are welcomed, and can be dropped off in advance at Peace of Mind Financial Solutions in Falsgrave Road.
