Two kind-hearted Scarborough sisters have had their long locks chopped off in support of two charities.

Graham School pupils Kristen and Philippa Hulme, age 15 and 12, decided to take the plunge after Kristen heard about an organisation called the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides wigs for children who have lost their hair while undergoing cancer treatment.

The sisters also decided they would like to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice, and have so far collected around £830 in sponsorship.

The girls’ dad Dominic said: “They’ve done brilliantly - I’m very proud of what they’ve done, especially that they came up with the idea themselves.”
