Spa Theatre re-opens following asbestos scare

Following the temporary closure of Scarborough Spa’s theatre earlier this month when asbestos was found in the ceiling the performance space will re-open on Monday.

It means that both The Billy Pearce Laughter Show and Movies Meets The Musicals can return to their original six night run within the Victorian Theatre. These were previously relocated to other spaces within the venue.

The re-opening of the theatre is also good news for supporters of the Scarborough Spa Orchestra.

With shows back to the original schedule it means that all Evening Concerts can move back to the Grand Hall.

Jo Ager, General Manager of Scarborough Spa said: “I am delighted to say it’s business as usual! The Spa theatre will again be fully operational from Monday and will be running six shows weekly throughout the season.

"We appreciate your support and patience and look forward your continued support for the Summer Season.”
