A MAJOR car rally due to set off from Scarborough tomorrow has been postponed until April 20 next year.
The event, called Destination Manchester, will see a total of 1,000 classic cars streaming into Manchester from four start points – Scarborough, Carlisle, Birmingham, and Nottinghamshire.
The date change has come about due to the original destination of the Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium no longer being available.
On April 20 is expected that around 250 cars will set off from Burniston Road car park at 9am and pass through both North and South Bay.
Organisers Speed of Sight hope to create a spectacle capable of becoming as well known as the London to Brighton run. The rally is the brainchild of Mike Newman, the three times Guinness World Landspeed record breaker who was born partially sighted and is now completely blind.
