Proceeds from Scarborough’s Festive Spectacular 2012 have been handed out to local good causes.
The concert at the Spa raised £2,400 which was divided up between Scarborough Hospital’s special care baby unit, the Rainbow Centre, and Scarborough’s three Boys Brigade groups which are based at Wreyfield, Burniston and Queen Street.
Organiser Nigel Wood said: “The event was excellent - a first rate night. It’s a community night where everyone gets together.
“The guest artists were of the highest quality and it was great to have Harry Gration again as compere.
“He’s been doing it for 11 or 12 years now and is part of the fixtures. He’s a real Scarborough person and really adds to the occasion.”
Mr Wood added that many people come and watch the Festive Spectacular year after year and really look forward to it.
He said: “The feedback we get is extremely positive. It’s a great start to the Christmas celebrations.”
The event has raised £65,000 over 15 years for good causes in the Scarborough area. Pictured, front, Mayor Helen Mallory with the organiser of Festive Spectacular Nigel Wood.
