A SPONSORED cycle ride is being held in aid of Scarborough-based charity Ellie’s Fund.
The event will take place on September 10 starting at Station Road, Scalby at 10.30am for an 11am start.
Participants are invited to enjoy a leisurely ride along the old railway track from Scalby to Hayburn Wyke or Ravenscar and back.
Sponsor forms are available at www.elliesfund.com/events-calendar
The event is being organised by Ellie’s granddad Peter Ludlow and is one of a number of events taking place this summer for the charity.
Ellie’s Fund was set up in memory of Scarborough teenager Ellie Othick-Bowmaker who died aged just 14 after battling two brain tumours.
She raised thousands of pounds for charity and this has continued through her fund, which was set up by Ellie’s mum Heather.
The charity has raised over £43,000 and so far has helped eight children who are undergoing cancer treatment.
