FANCY dress fun helped boost stock at a Scarborough charity shop.
The British Heart Foundation shop, in Newborough, held a Big Donation day in a bid to encourage people to give unwanted items to the charity.
The day saw staff working in fancy dress, and included street collections and sticker and badge give aways in the shop.
Assistant manager Natalie Muir, who took part in the event on Saturday said: “We had an absolutely fantastic day.
“Not only was it a lot of fun but the Big Donation day had a real impact.
“We are still seeing it now – I have had at least five or six more bags of donations than usual of the last couple of days.
“A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day a success.”
Ms Muir said staff at the shop are always looking for new donations. She appealed anyone who has unwanted clothes, books, toys or similar items to drop them in at the shop, keep their eye out for bag collections or contact staff who can arranged for items to be picked up.”
