DOZENS of people took a step towards raising more than £600 for children in Scarborough.
More than 30 people took part in a sponsored walk this weekend in aid of Action for Children.
The event, called Step Out for Children, raised £650 with money still coming in from walkers and sponsors.
On Saturday afternoon walkers set off from the Sea Life Centre in the North Bay.
They then paced the paths along Marine Drive and Foreshore Road before finishing at the Spa Complex in South Bay.
Organiser Ann Green said: “We had a wonderful day and everyone really enjoy themselves.
“Luckily we managed to all finish and get ourselves to the Spa and under cover before the heavens opened with the down pour.
“I was really pleased with how many people took part.
“We had walkers of all ages and it was quite a family event.
“It is a really nice walk anyway along the sea front and it was nice that we were all able to do it while raising money for this worthy cause.
“Thank you to everyone who took part and everyone who sponsored them.
“We were delighted to have raise so much money to make the biggest possible difference to the lives of children and young people.”
Action For Children is a charity which provides services like May Lodge in Cherry Tree Avenue, which provides respite care for children with disabilities.
