Steve Kittrick: Riding our luck in victory

Sometimes you have to ride your luck in football matches and we may have done a bit of that in our last two games.

We have still picked up two wins and six points, which is what it is all about.

This makes Saturday’s home game against Ramsbottom United a very interesting one, due to the fact that they are also in a bit of form.

They have won their last two in the league, which sets things up nicely.

They also boast Gareth Seddon in their attack, a player who is very well known in non-league circles.

I tried to sign him when I was manager of Guiseley because an agent tipped me off that he was on his way to meet Halifax Town.

We met him at a hotel off the motorway trying to hijack the deal, but in the end we couldn’t match the money that Halifax were going to pay.

It is the measure of the guy that he firstly met us for the chat and then stayed on to talk to us about football in general.

Next thing I know he’s a television star with Salford City.

We will obviously have to be mindful of him on Saturday and Ramsbottom as a whole, because they will obviously be a strong side.

We are still without Jameel Ible and Scott Brown for the game through suspension, but we are always working hard to bring players in to boost our numbers.

It is about getting those points on the board and we will be going out to do that once again on Saturday.
