THE NORTH Bay Railway is on track with musical and sporting events to support a local children’s charity .

Shadows Music will be providing entertainment with Ray Kirk on the organ at a fundraising barbecue on Friday August 5 from 7pm, in aid of Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People.

Ron O’Connor, Chairman of Scarborough Friends of Martin House Hospice, said: “Martin House and the Scarborough Friends are delighted with the support that North Bay Railway are providing for the children’s hospice.

“The first event will feature a quality barbecue of lamb chops, kebabs, burgers, sausages and sweet potatoes cooked by the Glass House Bistro chefs. Marquees will provide cover in case of inclement weather!”

Tickets are available from the North Bay Railway shop, telephone 01723 368791 and are £18 per head.

The second event is a Meet and Greet Question and Answer evening with Martyn Moxon and a selection of Yorkshire County Cricketers on Thursday August 18 at 8pm.

A raffle and auction will also be held and a meal prepared by the Bistro chefs will be included in the ticket price of £30 per head.

Later in the year, Martin House are offering a rare opportunity to view the children’s hospice by hosting an Open Day from 11am-4pm on Sunday October 2. All are welcome.
