FAMILY fun and fundraising were on the cards at the annual St Catherine’s Hospice summer fair.

The event took place at the hospice in Throxenby Lane on Saturday afternoon.

It featured numerous stalls, a Punch and Judy show and Irish dancing. Alonzi’s famous Harbour Bar ice cream, which had been donated for free, was also on sale.

Cakes were donated by Hardies and Queen Margaret’s Nursing Home.

Fundraiser Penny Campbell said: “There’s a real variety of stalls and lots of people here, which is lovely.”

Next weekend will see the hospice hold their summer ball at the Spa Complex. The “Beach Ball” on Saturday night will feature a gala dinner in the Ocean Room, dancing to the Bogus Brothers and Spectrum Disco.

Tickets cost £60 each, please contact fundraising on (01723) 378406 for details.
