Supermarket giants put forward revised plans

REVISED plans for two major supermarket developments in Scarborough have been submitted to Scarborough Council.

Tesco has submitted a planning application for a new supermarket in Dean Road, while Sainsbury’s wants to extend its existing store in Falsgrave Road.

Consultants have submitted revised drawings of the proposed developments, while an amended Transport Assessment has been received from Sainsbury’s.

Interested parties and residents have 14 days to make written comments on the documentation, which can be viewed on the council’s website, with the consultation period ending on November 29.

The council’s planning and development committee will consider both applications at a special meeting at Westborough Methodist Church on Thursday December 8, beginning at 1pm.

To register to speak at the meeting, contact the council’s planning services public speaking officer on (01723) 232323.
