CROWDS packed in to South Cliff Methodist Church for a cake decorating demonstration.
The event was a fundraiser organised by the Scarborough Friends of Cancer Research.
More than 40 people attended, and helped to raise £175 for the cause.
The demonstration was led by Jill Blanchard who is the secretary of the Scarborough Friends of Cancer Research, and a keen cake decorator.
She said: “We do regular fundraisers and have done demonstrations in the past, but never a cake decorating demonstration.
“Cake decorating is a real hobby of mine so we thought we would give it a go.
“It was a really popular event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“I had a fun time leading the demonstration, making icing flowers and a bumble bee cake and a ladybird cake.
“We had one gentleman in the audience and he had a go himself. He did a good job and said he was glad to show that men can do it too.”
“It was a great fundraiser and I’m sure we will hold another one in the future.”
Money was raised during the event through entrance fees, a guess the weight of the cake competition, and a raffle in which Mrs Blanchard’s decorated cakes were given as prizes.
All the proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
