Thousands welcome Santa to town

Thousands of people lined Scarborough Harbour this morning to welcome Santa to town.

To large cheers he arrived aboard a fishing boat at 11am.

He then boarded his sleigh and joined a parade featuring staff from Boyes; making his way up Eastborough, St Thomas Street and along Queen Street.

Santa has now taken up residency in his grotto at Boyes.

Santa has been delighting visitors young and old at the store for decades.

The grotto will be open Monday to Saturday 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm and Sundays 11am to 4pm until Christmas Eve.
