Winifred Bushell, Darcie DeFreitas and Molly Newham recently represented St Augustine’s during the North Yorkshire Youth Voice Summit in Harrogate.

Throughout the day the students took part in workshops on public speaking and the fun side of youth voice, learning the basic skills needed to talk to a crowd, present in assembly or argue your point.

In addition, the students also heard talks from Filey, Malton and Thirsk MP Kevin Hollinrake and Anne Longfield OBE, the Children’s Commissioner for England.

Lincoln Sargent, Director for Public Health, also presented the Director’s Annual Health report and students had the opportunity to put their questions to a number of top names within the industry.
